InterContinental Plans Include New Hotel in Moscow, First in Portugal

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts is poised to open several hotels in Europe in 2011 and 2012. The InterContinental Porto Palacios das Cardosas, set to open July, will be the first InterContinental hotel to open in Portugal.

A renovated palace, the 105-room property is situated in the historical district of Liberty Square and features a blend of classic and contemporary decor. The 203-room InterContinental Moscow Tverskaya, also opening in July, will be located near the Bolshoi Theatre, the Old Moscow Circus and the Kremlin.

In 2012, the 254-room InterContinental London Westminster will open within walking distance of Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben and St. James’s Park.
