Meliá Hotels Set to Open Third Italian Property in Genoa
Meliá Hotels International will debut a new hotel in Genoa, Italy, on Sept. 4, 2011. The hotel will be the company’s third property in Italy. The company has signed a total of 11 hotels so far this year (an average of one every three weeks) and continues to improve positioning of its most well-known brand, Meliá Hotels & Resorts, in the city hotel market with the incorporation of this modern hotel in the centre of Genoa, with facilities in keeping with the brand’s new quality and service standards.
The Meliá Génova is located in Vía Corsica, in the heart of the city, within a historical building built in 1929 which was totally refurbished and converted into a luxury hotel, known until now as the Bentley Hotel (THI Collection). The hotel provides 99 rooms, including a Presidential Suite with a terrace offering panoramic views and a Jacuzzi.
Other hotel features include an a la carte restaurant and lounge as well as a fitness center complete with a swimming pool, Turkish bath, Jacuzzi and showers. An la carte restaurant and a lounge bar provide dining options noteworthy for their unique combination of traditional flavors from the Italian region of Liguria and their sensorial, vanguard architecture.
