Mexico’s Las Villas Resort Mazatlan Joins Wyndham Portfolio
Wyndham Hotel Group, LLC, part of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation, added the 68-room Wyndham Las Villas Resort Mazatlan in Mexico to the upscale Wyndham Hotels and Resorts brand’s growing resort portfolio. The Mazatlan property, located in the Mexican state of Sinaloa, is the seventh Wyndham-branded hotel in the country.
The full-service resort, formerly the Las Villas Hotel & Spa, is operated by Aurora, Colo.-based Club Acquisition Company, a resort and residential real estate development firm that currently oversees and manages land, home and condo sales, hotels, restaurants, golf courses, construction and real estate businesses in Mexico and the United States. Wyndham Las Villas Resort Mazatlan is situated along three and a half miles of secluded beach within the gates of Estrella del Mar, Mazatlan’s master-planned community located on 816 acres along the Mexican Riviera.
The boutique-style property is six miles from General Rafael Buelna International Airport and approximately 20 miles from downtown Mazatlan, with roundtrip shuttle service to these locations available to hotel guests. Guest rooms and suites at the Mexican colonial-style hotel feature travertine and marble floors, televisions, high-speed wired and wireless Internet access and wet bar. Each oversized bathroom is elegantly appointed with granite countertops and a glass-enclosed shower with rainfall shower head. All accommodations offer private, furnished terraces or patios with views of the Pacific Ocean.
Four restaurants and three full bars provide an array of on-site options for breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails every day of the week. Additional hotel offerings include an on-site fitness center, business center, library, concierge services and bilingual staff. Over 1,700 square feet of meeting and event space can accommodate up to 100 guests in two soundproofed rooms, each fully equipped with audio visual equipment and high-speed wireless Internet access. The hotel also features an infinity-edge pool, children’s wading pool and in-room spa services.
Wyndham Las Villas Resort Mazatlan also provides guests with immediate access to various activities available within Estrella del Mar, including horseback riding, water sports, tennis and 18 holes of championship, oceanfront golf at the Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed golf course, known as one of the best in Mexico. The on-site Turtle Preserve and Sanctuary, the country’s largest privately funded preserve, gives guests the opportunity to view sea turtles and learn about local conservation efforts for free.
