NCL Counting on Curve Appeal with Staterooms on New Ship
A cabin with curves will distinguish the accommodations on Norwegian Cruise Line’s F3 class of ships.
NCL said its “New Wave” staterooms, with their curved walls and lines, create a “modern and chic experience.” NCL also said it has maximized the living space with an uncommon cabin bathroom: the shower stall and the toilet are in separate spaces.
“We have thrown away the rule book with the design of F3, and today are revealing the very first element with our New Wave staterooms,” said Colin Veitch, NCL’s president and CEO. “Gone are the regimented, typical designs and in place are sleek staterooms that are totally outside the box, designed for the needs of tomorrow’s guests.”
NCL said the cabins will have an earth-tone palette accented with splashes of color and dark wood. Concealed contour LED lighting and back-lit domed ceiling will “set a relaxing vibe,” said NCL.
The first F3 ship is under construction at Aker Yards’ facility in St. Nazaire, France. The ship will accommodate 4,200 passengers. NCL said it will slowly reveal more details of the F3 ship in advance of its 2010 debut.
