Nevis Resort Hosts First Yoga Retreat

Montpelier Plantation & Beach, a casually chic 19-room Relais & Chateaux boutique hotel located on Nevis, invites yoga and fitness enthusiasts alike to experience the healing power of relaxation through its first-ever yoga retreat March 24-31.

Montpelier’s week-long yoga retreat will be a holistic journey for the mind, body and soul lead by expert local yoga instructor Tara Leigh.

Leigh, a member of the International Yoga Alliance and certified in power yoga, gentle therapeutics and restorative yoga, among others, worked with the hotel to develop a retreat program that highlight’s the hotel’s holistic approach to hospitality and harnesses the island’s natural beauty and energy to assist guests in their journey for complete peace and relaxation.

Yoga retreat guests will start their days with morning meditation and power yoga. The full list of daytime programming includes two afternoons of restorative yoga classes, an afternoon of yoga on Montpelier’s private beach, a mid-morning guided hike up Nevis Peak, a healthy cooking demonstration class with Relais & Chateaux Executive Chef Benjamin Voisin and an afternoon to explore Charlestown, the capital city of Nevis that features colonial-style architecture, historical sites, charming shops and authentic Caribbean bistros.

Under the star-filled Nevis sky guests will slip further into relaxation with two nights of meditation by candlelight and an evening of Montpelier’s signature Vino and Vinyasa, yoga followed by a reception at Indigo, the hotel’s causal poolside restaurant and bar, featuring the hotel’s extensive wine list.

Prices for the Montpelier Yoga Retreat start at $1,795 per person based on double occupancy and include seven-night accommodation, all yoga-related activities, select off-property activities, daily breakfast and tea, access to all hotel amenities, transportation to all off-property activities and all taxes and fees.
