PATA to Host Responsible Tourism Conference in Nepal
PATA is to stage an Adventure Travel and Responsible Tourism Conference and Mart in Nepal in 2010. The event, supported by the association’s Nepal Chapter, is slated for Feb. 1 to 5, 2010, in Katmandu with the Nepal Tourism Board acting as host.
Details were confirmed during a visit to PATA’S ITB Berlin stand by the Nepal Minister for Tourism Hisila Yami. PATA Events Director Sheila Leong said “this is a travel mart dedicated to sellers and buyers involved passionately in a significant niche travel segment. We’re looking to create an exciting event for buyers and sellers of the very latest adventure destinations and products.”
The conference on Responsible Tourism reflects PATA’s commitment in this field and details of the agenda and speakers will be released in due course. The last PATA Adventure Travel and Ecotourism Conference and Mart took place in early 2001 in Dambulla, Sri Lanka. Nepal was the host for the event in 2000.
