Quito’s Casa Gangotena Offering “Fiestas de Quito” Rates

The Casa Gangotena luxury hotel in Quito Ecuador is offering special rates in conjunction with the Fiestas de Quito, an annual three-week celebration marking Quito’s 16th century founding on the ruins of a former Inca city. Casa Gangotena guests will receive a 25 percent discount off their room rate from Dec. 1 to 15, 2013.

The celebration will take place from Nov. 15 to Dec 6, 2013, and feature local residents dancing around the city on “chivas” (wooden buses converted into moving dance floors) while local brass bands play day and night and impromptu stages feature dancers dressed in traditional Ecuadorian costumes. Over 400 events are scheduled for the festival, including parades, concerts and culinary competitions.
