Ritz-Carlton Reserve to Open on Panama’s Pearl Island

Ritz-Carlton announced plans to open a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in 2016 on Pearl Island, a private island 45 miles south of Panama City, Panama. The 80-room open-air luxury resort will offer a spa, private beach club, three swimming pools and three restaurants. The spa will feature outdoor treatment rooms and tree-top villas offering indigenous treatments. The hotel will offer guests access to a marina, a dive center, a fishing village and an equestrian center.

Accommodations will consist of one-and two-story beachside villas with oceanfront views, private plunge pools and private outdoor terraces. The resort will offer the “Signature Suite,” a stand-alone private villa complex along the coastline.

The property will be set in a lush area in the Gulf of Panama reachable only by boat, helicopter or plane through a private airstrip, and bordered by beaches and virgin tropical forests with indigenous flora and fauna. The 3,500-acre private island is the third largest in the Las Perlas archipelago and is a region rich in biodiversity.
