Riu Announces Opening of All-Inclusive Cape Verde Hotel

Riu Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of the Riu Touareg, an all-inclusive hotel, located on the island of Boavista. Following an investment of 120 million euros, the Riu Touareg has become the fifth hotel in Cape Verde as the Spanish hotel chain already operates two resorts on the Island of Sal and two on the Island of Boavista.

The new 881-room hotel is the first Riu to feature three separate areas -- “Adults Only,” “Family and Children” and “Classic.” In the "Adults Only” zone, guests enjoy several amenities including their own restaurant and swimming pool. The Family zone features swimming pools and playgrounds, and the Classic area offers traditional Riu service.

The hotel’s main restaurant is Santo Antao, and four specialty restaurants include the gourmet restaurant muhagh, exclusive for guests of the "Adults Only” zone. The hotel also offers a total of four bars and a nightclub called Pacha. In addition to the beach, the resort also offers sports such as windsurfing, kayaking or snorkeling; a swimming pool with integrated whirlpool and swim-up bar; three saltwater pools; and two children's pools. The Riu Touareg also has a complete Renova Spa, where guests can also enjoy the complimentary use of steam room and Jacuzzi.
