Riu Begins Renovating Former Westin Aruba

Riu Hotels & Resorts, which reached a deal to acquire the former Westin Aruba last November, has begun a $60 million renovation and upgrade that is expected to take a year.

The resort closed at the end of February. The rebranded resort will reopen in 2015 under the Riu flag and will be a sister property to the adjacent all-inclusive Hotel Riu Palace Aruba.
