Riu Plaza Guadalajara on Schedule for June Opening

The Spanish hotel group Riu Hotels & Resorts announced that a new Guadalajara property is on schedule for a June opening. This is the first of the company’s Riu Plaza properties -- targeted to business travelers -- to open in Mexico.

This latest development, the Riu Plaza Guadalajara, will consist of a 40-story building with 557 rooms and a heliport. Additionally, the property will feature 16 meeting rooms with a total capacity of 1,387 people.

The hotel will also offer a fitness center and spa. The hotel will be located two kilometers from the Gran Plaza Fashion Mall and less than three kilometers from the Expo Guadalajara Center.
