Sonesta Ocean Point to Open in October

A third Sonesta resort in St. Maarten, the 129-suite Sonesta Ocean Point, is scheduled to open in October.

The all-inclusive, adults-only resort is the former Ocean Terrace building at the adjacent Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino. The property is getting a multimillion-dollar renovation.

Accommodations at the high-end Sonesta Ocean Point range from a 480-square-foot junior suite king to the 2,600 square-foot penthouse.

Exclusive to Ocean Point guests are three pools: the Edge infinity pool with private beach, a swim-out pool connected to the swim-out suites and the Point pool.

Other facilities include the Azul rooftop bar, the 18.63 lobby cafe and bar, the Azul restaurant, private cabanas and a garden. There will be 24-hour room service.

The 10-acre resort has several wedding venues and conference facilities. Rates start at $325 per person, double.

Each Ocean Point guest will have an RFID bracelet, which will serve as the room key. Guests will have access to the facilities at Sonesta Maho Beach Resort & Casino, although Maho guests will not have access to Ocean Point.
