Starwood Hotels to Launch New Westin Puntacana Resort in 2013

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide announced an agreement with development partner Grupo Punta Cana to build the Westin Puntacana Resort, a 204-room property to be located in the Playa Blanca area of the Punta Cana Resort & Club complex.

The new property will open in the winter of 2013 and feature 16 suites, meeting and wedding facilities, a children’s club and walking trails. Guests at the Westin Puntacana will have access to amenities of the Punta Cana Resort & Club including golf, nine restaurants, a spa and a 1,500-acre ecological reserve.

The Westin Puntacana Resort will be the company’s second Dominican Republic property; Starwood also is partnering with Grupo Punta Cana to open the 122-room Four Points by Sheraton Punta Cana Village in October.
