The increase in the number of seats offered by TAM Airlines’ on the Sao Paulo/Guarulhos - Miami route has already been addressed. As of November 12th, 2012, the company will operate the current flights on this route with new Boeing 777-300 aircrafts, which will be delivered in the second semester to TAM by the North American manufacturer.

Flights JJ8095 and JJ8091, departing every day from Miami Airport (USA) at 11:00 am and 8:15 pm, and flights JJ8094 and JJ8090, departing daily from Guarulhos Airport in Sao Paulo (Brazil), at 10:30 am and 11:55 pm (local time), respectively, will be operated by the Boeing 777 (instead of the current Airbus 330). In addition to offering more space for passengers and cargo, the new aircraft will also help to maintain the low average age of TAM’s fleet.

“The increase in the offer of seats on the route to Miami is part of our strategy to meet the higher demand on the international routes, without losing sight of both profitability and the rationality of our network”, stated Nelson Shinzato, vice president for Planning and Alliances of TAM Airlines.

With this aircraft change, the number of seats will increase from 223 to 362, representing an increase of 62 percent over the current offer. The engines that will be used on the new B777 will be announced later. TAM already flies the Boeing 777s on the routes between Sao Paulo and Frankfurt, London and Santiago (Chile).
