Tourism Reps from Latin America, Galicia Meet

Industry professionals from Venezuela, Brazil and Mexico have convened in the northern Spanish city of Santiago de Compostela with a view to bring together travel sector representatives from Latin America and Galicia.

Maria Anton, director-general of tourism for the Galician government, underscored the importance of what she calls “root tourism” and the need to have visitors from different Latin American countries come to this Spanish region.

One of the meeting’s top goals in the short run is the creation of a rock-ribbed body of professionals linked to international tourism.

The event was organized by the Galician regional authority in collaboration with the Galician Institute of International Analysis and Information, and the region’s Immigration Counseling Office.
