Volaris to Offer Nonstop San Antonio-Mexico Flights

Volaris is betting that there is ample demand for leisure and business travel between San Antonio and Mexico City as the airline plans to commence daily nonstop service between the two destinations from Sept. 15.

Volaris already has air services from San Antonio to Guadalajara, Mexico, three times a week. The addition of the new daily nonstop flights to Mexico City will begin after another international airline, Air Canada, launched new non-stop service between San Antonio and Toronto earlier this month.

San Antonio leaders are viewing this as another opportunity to attract more international tourists to the Alamo City. Volaris plans to begin the new service from San Antonio on the eve of Mexico’s Independence Day.

The new flights will be offered seven days a week on the airline’s 179-seat Airbus A320 aircraft. Volaris’ decision could send a powerful signal throughout the airline industry. Volaris will begin selling tickets for its new flights on May 22.
