Wyndham Resort Opens in Downtown Cabo San Lucas

Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, LLC announced the expansion of the upscale hotel brand’s resort portfolio in Mexico with the addition of the 286-room Wyndham Cabo San Lucas Resort in downtown Cabo San Lucas. The resort becomes the eighth Wyndham branded property in the country.

Owned by AMX Baja Holdings, a subsidiary of the privately owned real estate investment consortium Steadfast Companies, the resort is located in the Mexican municipality of Los Cabos at the southernmost tip of the Baja California peninsula, 15 miles from Los Cabos International Airport.

The five-story resort is undergoing a $10 million renovation of its guest rooms, conference facilities and public spaces that is expected to be completed in early 2012. Guest rooms and junior suites are decorated with traditional Mexican colors and feature contemporary furnishings, high-speed wired and wireless Internet access, satellite television and safe deposit boxes.

Most rooms offer balconies that look out upon the marina, town or the Sea of Cortez. The rooftop pool features a restaurant, swim-up bar, poolside lounges and children’s area. For beach-goers, the resort offers complimentary shuttle service to and from Médano Beach, or “Playa el Médano,” the main beach in Cabo San Lucas.

Guests can enjoy massage therapy, body and facial treatments, aromatherapy and nail services at the full-service, on-site Aura Spa. Wyndham Cabo San Lucas Resort provides wireless high-speed Internet access throughout its public spaces, a fitness center with marina views, business center and retail shopping on the ground floor. Additional services include a concierge, complimentary parking and on-site activities and car-rental desks.

The property features two bars. Lobby Bar serves national specialty drinks nightly while La Vista Bar serves drinks and snacks poolside throughout the day. La Vista Restaurant serves breakfast and lunch daily and full-menu room service is available. Cabo San Lucas’s popular eateries, bars and nightclubs are located within walking distance from the resort.

Wyndham Cabo San Lucas Resort provides nearly 13,000 square feet available for business meetings, social events and weddings. The resort also offers on-site, dedicated event coordinators and in-house audio visual equipment.
