American Airlines and its regional affiliate, American Eagle, are increasing their service to and from Mexico. American said the additional service is a result of increased demand, in part related to the suspension of flights by Mexicana Airlines on Aug. 11. American is increasing its Dallas/Fort Worth-Mexico City service from four daily roundtrips to five on Nov. 18.

S7 Airlines, a Russian domestic carrier, will become part of oneworld on Nov 15, substantially expanding its network throughout Russia and the rest of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Air France and KLM have launched their new mobile websites – mobile.airfrance.com and www.KLM.com  for mobile. Their respective free applications for iPhones are available via the iPhone App Store, and soon as well for BlackBerry’s via BlackBerry App World.

Virgin Atlantic announced a one-way interline agreement with Virgin America. The agreement enables Virgin Atlantic’s customers to connect with Virgin America flights at seven US gateways, extending their journeys to great Virgin America destinations such as San Diego and Seattle.

The acquisition plan outlined by British Airways and Iberia aims to land in Asia, with several viable companies waiting at the end of the runway. BA and Iberia have earmarked Asia as a key region for expansion once their own merger completes, though restrictions on foreign investment could narrow their range of acquisition targets.

Beginning December 15, 2010, Alaska Airlines will beef up its flights between San Jose, California, and Guadalajara, Mexico, and between Sacramento, California, and Guadalajara, starting December 16, 2010.
