Copa Holdings, S.A. parent company of Copa Airlines and Copa Airlines Colombia, has announced financial results for the fourth quarter of 2010 and full year 2010. Copa Holdings reported net income of $92.8 million for fourth quarter, or earnings per share (EPS) of $2.11, as compared to net income of $70.4 million, or EPS of $1.60, in the fourth quarter of 2009, an increase of 31.8 percent.

Turks and Caicos Reservations, the only locally-based e-marketing and tourism reservation service focused exclusively on the Turks and Caicos Islands, is partnering with the Tuscany on Grace Bay to enhance sales and marketing of the resort, which was most recently ranked 7th best hotel in the world by TripAdvisor.

Tourism Minister, the Hon. Edmund Bartlett has urged other destinations in the Americas to pursue marketing support arrangements with airlines to ensure airlift security. Minister Bartlett, who was one of the presenters at the Routes Americas Strategy Forum held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on the weekend, noted that “the new architecture of the aviation industry demands partnerships to ensure route security, as spiraling costs diminish yields and threaten their profitability.”

Wyndham Worldwide Corporation reported fourth quarter revenues increased 3 percent from the prior year period to $937 million. Excluding the $47 million of vacation ownership revenue associated with the percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting method in the fourth quarter of 2009, fourth quarter 2010 adjusted revenue growth was 8 percent. The company said its adjusted revenue growth reflects continued sales momentum across its three business units and incremental contributions from acquisitions.

Amadeus IT Group S.A. said it would sell the European website Opodo to AXA Private Equity and Permira Funds, pending approval by the Amadeus board. Opodo is a pan-European website founded by nine European airlines. It launched in 2001, first in Germany, then in the U.K. and ultimately expanded into nine European markets.

The World Religious Travel Association filed a voluntary petition for relief under Chapter 7 of the Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Colorado on Jan. 7, Travel Pulse has learned. WRTA was founded in November 2006, by Kevin J. Wright, an author of books on religious tourism, and the founder in 2004 of the religious travel division of Globus.
