The 40th German Travel Mart kicked off Saturday night in Bremen, the smallest of Germany’s 16 states. In the town the German National Tourist Office (GNTO) has much to crow about.

The conference, which was held at the Lakam Center in Cancun May 6 to 9, also featured an appearance by the actor Kevin Spacey, who told attendees during a press conference that he would “love to shoot in Mexico.” Spacey, who said his favorite food is Mexican, plans to spread the word about the destination.
 

The Arabian Travel Market (ATM), an annual travel trade event in the Middle East, which ran from May 5 to 8 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, wrapped up on a high note on Thursday.

Hotel conversions, expansions and openings, coupled with the increase in the upper-end sector of all-inclusive resorts and the strength of Mexico's visitor numbers in Q1, fueled the mood of confidence among buyers and sellers at Tianguis Turistico, Mexico's annual travel trade event, held this week in the Lakam Center/Cancun-Riviera Maya.

The 2014 Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE) at the Paradisus Palma Real in Punta Cana recognized these efforts in front of the country's tourism sector and more than 100 international buyers and suppliers.

Dubai’s goal of doubling the 10 million visitors welcomed in 2012 to 20 million by 2020 is the collective responsibility of all industry stakeholders, was the message shared at the launch session of the ATM 2014 seminar series, which opened today at Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre.
