Westin Hotels & Resorts, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. today announced it will soon open its first property in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Karisma Hotels & Resorts, a luxury hotel collection that owns and manages properties across Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe, recently announced its global expansion plans, encompassing a projected growth model to own and operate 30 resorts around the world by 2020.
Nicaragua is still relatively new on the tourism market, but Pleasant is signaling that it will be expanding there as part of its push southward in Central America.
The Caribbean hotel sector is continuing a very solid 2015, according to the latest report from STR Inc. The region’s hotel occupancy was 75.7 percent in July, a 3.6 percent year-over-year increase over the same month in 2014.
Thompson Hotels is expanding to the Caribbean. The company announced the planned opening of its new Thompson Playa del Carmen this fall on Mexico’s Caribbean coast, the brand’s first hotel in the Caribbean region.
The Nayara hotel chain, based in Costa Rica, broke ground earlier this month on a luxury hotel in Orocovis in the Toro Verde Adventure Park in the Toro Verde mountain range of central Puerto Rico.
