The Grand Lucayan on Grand Bahama Island plans to open Lighthouse Pointe, a resort-within-a-resort, late this year.
Spanish hotel chain, Melia Hotels International, plans to open three hotels in Dubai by 2018 and looks to enter Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman, according to a top company official. Melia Hotels already operates Melia Dubai and Melia Doha.
The Landings St. Lucia plans to add 12 villas by the end of the year. According to Kashmie Ali, managing director of The Landings St. Lucia, the luxury hotel plans to add 12 villas by the end of the year.
Hilton Worldwide announced the signing of a franchise agreement with Caribbean-based Sterling Developments to build an Embassy Suites by Hilton hotel on the island of St. Kitts & Nevis.
The Island House, a boutique property in Lyford Cay, The Bahamas, opened in April. The hotel has 30 garden and ocean view rooms, offering a rain shower, a separate bath and private outdoor terrace.
The 518-room Holiday Inn, once dubbed the largest hotel in Montego Bay, has received a major boost with a US$15 million renovation and re-branding exercise, which is now underway.
