A Curacao court denied a bid by Hyatt Hotels Corp. to resume control of the former Hyatt Regency Curacao Golf Resort, Spa and Marina in Willemstad. Hyatt had sought to retake control of the resort after the owners locked Hyatt managers out of the property in November.

Turks and Caicos' Veranda resort, in preparation for a three-month closure for renovations, is no longer accepting bookings. The property will be closed from Jan. 7, 2013 through March.

The 118-room JW Marriott Panama Golf & Beach Resort has opened within the master-planned Buenaventura beachfront community near Rio Hato, two hours from Panama City on the Pacific coast. The opening marks the debut of the JW brand in Panama.

Comfort Suites Seven Mile Beach in Grand Cayman has completed a US$ 2.2 million upgrade of its rooms and facilities in time for the 2012-2013 winter season. The all-suite hotel began the renovations in August 2011 and stayed the course with minimal disruption to guests.
