To celebrate the opening of Club Med Sandpiper Bay, located in Port St. Lucie, Fla., a ribbon-cutting ceremony and champagne toast with guests and local dignitaries was hosted by Henri Giscard D’Estaing, chairman and CEO, Club Méditerranée, and Xavier Mufraggi, president and CEO, Club Med North America.
Extending its reach in Latin America, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. announced the debut of its Aloft brand in Panama City, Panama, set to open in December 2012. Located in the capital city of Panama, the newly constructed hotel is being developed by Nuevos Hoteles de Panama S.A. which will also operate the hotel under a franchise agreement with Starwood.
Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, LLC announced the expansion of the upscale hotel brand’s resort portfolio in Mexico with the addition of the 286-room Wyndham Cabo San Lucas Resort in downtown Cabo San Lucas. The resort becomes the eighth Wyndham branded property in the country.

Jumeirah, the Dubai-based luxury hotel group and member of Dubai Holding, has signed a management agreement with Conch Bay Development Ltd, the development company owned by the Kentish and Lake families, to operate a luxury resort hotel and luxury resort residences on the island of Anguilla, British West Indies, in the Caribbean, scheduled to open in 2014. The project will be coordinated by PN Holdings LLC, an entity formed by companies affiliated with Robert A. Petrallia and golfer Jack Nicklaus.
