Josef Forstmayr, managing director of Round Hill Hotel & Villas in Montego Bay, Jamaica, has announced a hurricane policy that will be in effect throughout the 2007 hurricane season. The policy was created to protect guests during a possible hurricane while the guest is registered at the resort.

Orient-Express Hotels Ltd. signed an agreement to purchase a parcel of land in Buzios, Brazil. The land will be used for the development of an all-suite boutique resort of 40 rooms, along with a real estate development of 17 villas.
The 40-room Coconut Inn in Aruba, which bills itself as “Aruba’s only budget motel,” will launch a $33 million, 160-room expansion project funded by a local group called Rosim Development. The completion date is set for mid-2008.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. anticipates executing 200 new deals and opening more than 80 new hotels in 2007, almost doubling the number of properties the company opened last year.
