The St. Maarten Tourism Bureau is implementing new strategies to increase tourist arrivals following a significant decline in its marketing budget for 2013, a top official said earlier this week.
The Dominican Republic welcomed 2.9 million tourists through July, up 0.8% over the same period in 2012. Statistics released by the Central Bank revealed that 60% of the visitors came from North America, followed by Europe (24%) and South America (10%).
