Robert L. Johnson, founder and chairman of The RLJ Companies (RLJ), embarked on the highly-anticipated Delta Air Lines new flight service from the United States to Monrovia, Liberia, making the airline the leading US carrier operating flights to Africa. The inaugural flight commenced on September 4 and is the only direct flight service that will be offered from the US to the African country.

Mexico’s Secretariat of Tourism announced that in July of this year, the number of international tourists arriving in Mexico by air increased by 27.5 percent, compared to July 2009. In July 2010, the airports of the Mexican Republic received 899,172 foreign visitors, a difference of 193,899 passengers in respect to the same time last year. According to National Institute of Migration, the United States was the main market source for travelers into Mexico, with 583,732 Americans arriving in the country, an impressive 20.1 percent increase in comparison to 2009.
