Expo 2020 Dubai lands at the next edition of FITUR (Stand 6A13) to be held in Madrid from May 19-23 at IFEMA. Expo 2020 Dubai will present its proposal to the Spanish and Latin American markets, two of the most important targets for this project, which will be launched on October 1 and will run through March 31, 2022.

As the event aims to change the world as we know it, it will also offer the opportunity to discover the world in one place. More than 200 participants, including 190 countries, multilateral agencies, educational establishments and companies, are expected to gather for Expo 2020 Dubai.

Expo 2020 Dubai, An Event Open to the World

FITUR 2021 will be Expo 2020 Dubai's letter of introduction to the professional public and its future visitors. The Expo, which was scheduled to take place from October 20, 2020 to April 10, 2021, had to be postponed for a year due to the global pandemic. Now, with the clock counting down to its official opening, Expo 2020 Dubai will offer over the course of six months the opportunity for all countries to participate with new opportunities for business, collaboration and cooperation.

The Strength of Spain's Ties with the Middle East

Between 2019 and 2020, all the work on the Expo's permanent buildings, as well as the various facilities, has already been completed.

The Spain pavilion is the work of the Madrid-based studio Amann-Canovas-Maruri. The design shows Spain's close historical ties with the Arab world. A space to discover the architecture, culture and gastronomy of our country. The concept "Intelligence for life" will be the driving force to showcase the talent and dynamism of Spanish companies in order to share ideas and knowledge and build a vision for the future. Moreover, this will not be the only Spanish presence at the Expo, as the pavilion of the United Arab Emirates has been designed by the Valencian architect Santiago Calatrava.

Not only architecture will be important in this meeting, since, among these exclusive and innovative designs, the site will house an improvised nature with thousands of plants, shrubs and trees. In total, more than 340 different species have been selected, many of which are indigenous to the region.

According to Sumathi Ramanathan, vice president of market strategy and sales at Expo 2020 Dubai, "Expo 2020 Dubai offers something for everyone, whether you're visiting with family or friends, or as a business traveler or student. And no matter your passion (food, culture, technology, wellness, art or science), there is plenty to discover. Travel agencies will be able to organize packages with unique experiences focused on itineraries tailored to families, couples or for intrepid foodies in search of the latest in the industry. We invite you to discover how to become an official authorized reseller of Expo 2020 Dubai and benefit from this unique opportunity."

Under the theme "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future," Expo 2020 will be the world's most impactful global factory of new ideas, catalyzing an exchange of fresh perspectives and inspiring action to deliver real-life solutions to real-world challenges.

Expo 2020 Dubai will be the largest event ever held in the Arab world, and also one of the first mega events after the onset of the global pandemic. The UAE will welcome visitors from all over the world with open arms, having overcome challenging times.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable visit, the organization will follow a protocol of security measures and precautions against COVID-19. To this end, all its venues will have thermal cameras at the arrival points to check the temperature of all attendees before entering the venue. It will also be mandatory to wear a face mask at all times and maintain a safety distance of 2 meters. In addition, there will be hand disinfection points, as well as adequate facilities and specialized staff to deal with any possible medical problems on site.

Expo 2020 Dubai is prepared and adapted to the new global normality in which we are right now.
