Redefining High-End Travel: How TTG and AURA Are Shaping Autumn as the New Peak Season for Global Luxury
By Massimo Terracina
Extended stays, bespoke experiences, holistic wellness, and privileged access. The definition of luxury travel is undergoing a profound transformation. Today’s affluent travelers are moving away from traditional seasonal getaways, seeking instead highly personalized journeys that offer time, authenticity, and meaningful connection.
According to new data from global luxury travel network Virtuoso, high-end travel sales are projected to rise by nearly 21% year-over-year in 2026. Most notably, the industry is witnessing a major shift in seasonality: autumn has officially emerged as the new peak season for luxury jetsetters worldwide.

The Autumn Surge in Numbers
Global travel patterns show an unprecedented surge during the fall months, with bookings up 59% and overall sales soaring by 69%:
September leads the momentum, generating a 77% surge in sales and a 55% rise in bookings.
October maintains strong demand, posting a 59% increase in reservations.
November achieves record-breaking growth, with both bookings and sales exceeding 70%.
Europe reflects this exact trend: fall bookings across the continent are up 49% with sales rising 64%, demonstrating remarkable market resilience despite average rate adjustments exceeding 7%.
From TTG Expertise to Florence: The Launch of AURA

Against this backdrop of evolving traveler desires, Italian Exhibition Group (IEG)—drawing on its long-standing expertise behind TTG Travel Experience—has unveiled AURA – The Luxury Travel Event. Taking place from October 27 to 29 at the historic Fortezza da Basso in Florence, this premier international showcase is designed exclusively for the high-end travel trade.
Operating as a highly selective B2B event, AURA brings together accredited global buyers and elite hospitality leaders, prioritizing meaningful industry connections and high-value business opportunities.
“With AURA, we decided to make a decisive step forward,” highlights Gloria Armiri, Group Exhibition Manager of the Tourism & Hospitality Division at IEG. “This choice stems from the evolution of luxury demand and the growing international focus on Italy. We saw an opportunity to create an event that was missing from the Italian landscape—in a segment previously dominated by international players. AURA was born as an exclusively B2B event for accredited buyers and sellers, featuring a deliberately selective format centered on quality relationships and concrete business growth.”
AURA and TTG: Setting a New Benchmark in Luxury Hospitality
The debut of AURA in Florence highlights Italy's pivotal role in shaping the future of experiential luxury. Supported by the vision of IEG and TTG, the event sets a new benchmark for curated networking, bespoke itinerary design, and authentic hospitality in line with changing global market dynamics.
