Uber Unveils New Tourism Initiative to Enhance Visitor Experience in Puerto Rico

As tourism in Latin America continues to soar, Uber is expanding its commitment to enhancing how travelers explore top regional destinations—this time with a renewed focus on Puerto Rico. The company announced the latest phase of Uber Te Espera, a travel-focused initiative designed to create deeper, more seamless visitor experiences across the island.
Developed in partnership with Discover Puerto Rico, the initiative coincides with a surge of global interest in the island, driven in part by high-profile cultural events such as Bad Bunny’s 2025 residency, which is drawing international fans in record numbers.
A key component of the new program is the virtual training offered to all active Uber drivers in Puerto Rico, free of charge. The training includes modules on Puerto Rican history, culture, food, and events, equipping drivers with the tools to act as informal tour guides and local ambassadors during every ride.
Promoting Local Cuisine and Attractions
Uber Te Espera builds upon Uber’s existing Explorer’s Guide, an in-app tool that helps travelers discover top attractions and local food spots. In addition, Uber Eats is spotlighting Puerto Rican cuisine by curating a special section of the app dedicated to traditional dishes such as mofongo, asopao, and alcapurrias—favorites among international visitors.
To date, travelers from over 120 countries have used the Uber app to explore Puerto Rico. Among the most visited destinations by international riders are Old San Juan, the Cruise Terminal, T-Mobile District, and Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport.
This new chapter in Uber’s strategy not only strengthens the brand’s presence in Latin America but also highlights its role in offering culturally immersive, connected travel experiences that support local tourism economies.
