Due to the current global context, in which the Covid-19 pandemic continues to affect in-person events and people's ability to move around, Habanos, S.A. has decided to cancel the 23rd edition of the Habano Festival -scheduled for February 2022-, the world's leading premium cigar event that has been bringing together experts, connoisseurs and aficionados from all over the world since 1999 to live a unique experience around a common passion: Habanos.

The company regrets that, for the second year in a row, a must-attend event for Habano lovers will not take place. For this reason, the company will focus its efforts on surprising its aficionados once again in 2022, as it did in 2021 with such innovative activities as the 1st Edition of Habanos World Days, the virtual event that allowed premium cigar aficionados, and especially the world of Habanos, to share experiences and continue learning and enjoying the whole culture surrounding this exclusive "Totally Handmade" product.

In a context as difficult as last year's, this virtual meeting was a success with more than 9,000 aficionados from over 140 countries, 200 media outlets and more than 75,000 visitors during 3 days. The program included a visit to the Habanos, S.A. virtual stand where a special Humidor designed in commemoration of Cohiba's 55th anniversary was unveiled; the names of the nominees for the prestigious Habanos 2020 Awards, which recognize outstanding personalities for their work in the categories of Communication, Business and Production, were shared; and the winning aficionados were announced in the online version of the Habanos World Challenge International Contest, which measures the general knowledge of Habanos in its various stages of the process, from growing and making cigars to enjoying them.
