Castro, Maduro Vow to Strengthen Economic Cooperation

During the meeting between the Cuban and Venezuelan presidents, Venezuelan Minister of Petroleum Rafael Ramírez and Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investments Rodrigo Malmierca initialed agreements related to the projects to be performed in 2014 under the Cuba-Venezuela Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement.

In a meeting held in Havana, Cuban President Raúl Castro and his Venezuelan counterpart Nicolás Maduro reaffirmed on Tuesday their interest in consolidating bilateral economic cooperation, the Cuban press informed.

The meeting took place before the beginning of the Second Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac), held in the capital of Cuba, which will be attended by the Venezuelan president and other 30 leaders and representatives of the bloc.

During the bilateral presidential meeting, Venezuelan Minister of Petroleum Rafael Ramírez and Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investments Rodrigo Malmierca initialed agreements related to the projects to be performed in 2014 under the Cuba-Venezuela Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement.
