Aruba´s Flagship Resort Changes Hands, Name

Belfonti Capital Partners, LLC announced this week the purchase of the Wyndham Aruba Resort Spa & Casino and its renaming to the Aruba Resort, Spa & Casino. Caribbean News Digital also learned that Belfonti Capital Partners, LLC has hired Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide to manage the property.

According to a brief press release, the new owners explained that their hiring of Starwood Hotels & Resorts to manage the resort has to do with the latter´s “well-known management skills and traditions of superior service” that make the company the perfect match to clinch the kind of top-notch service the Aruba Resort, Spa & Casino wants to deliver.

In the same breath, the renamed property –the release goes on to say-is slated to become a member of the Westin Hotels & Resorts family in late 2006 or early 2007, in a bid to offer a unique lifestyle destination resort. Until then, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide will be steer the new resort experience.

“The management & staff will continue providing the service you have come to enjoy as we transition from a Wyndham franchised property to a Starwood managed property and ultimately a Westin Resort,” said Rob Smith, vice president & general manager of the Aruba Resort Spa & Casino.
