Baha Mar Development Co. Takes Over Management of 3 Hotels in Bahamas
Management and Operation of the Radisson Cable Beach Resort, the Nassau Beach Hotel and the Wyndham Nassau Resort & Crystal Palace Casino have been assumed by Baha Mar Development Co., which plans a 2,700-room resort complex in Nassau´s cable Beach area.
The three resorts will remain open and will operate under their existing flags while a $15 million capital improvement program is underway through December, Travel Weekly reported.
The renovations include upgrades to the casinos, landscaping, lobbies, restaurants and meeting facilities and redecoration of 675 of the 1,941 rooms. Michael Sansbury, Executive Vice President of Baha Mar Development Co. said that, "its business as usual with a minimal inconvenience to guests" while the improvements take place.
The completion of phase one of the mega-project in the first quarter of 2009 represents an investment of $1.2 billion, Sansbury said. By that time, the three properties now being improved will have been razed and a new 1,000-room casino hotel will have opened, topped by a 300-room luxury property.
