Barbados’ Crane Resort to Add 80 Suites
The 202-room Crane Resort & Residences, on Barbados’ southeastern coast fronting the Atlantic, is adding 80 suites as part of a multimillion-dollar renovation set for completion early next year.
The 40-acre property is the oldest continuously operating hotel in the Caribbean and includes the original hotel, which was built in the late 1700s and expanded in 1887.
The original hotel houses 18 guest rooms and suites, and the property’s other 184 units are suites ranging in size from one to three bedrooms.
Many of the new facilities will be in the Crane Village, designed to resemble an 18th-century Bajan town. New facilities will include tennis courts, an Italian restaurant, a coffee shop and bakery, a jazz bar, a fitness center, a full-service spa and a conference center.
