Barcelo to Open Family Resort in Dominican Republic

Barceló Hotels & Resorts has designed the all new, all-inclusive Barceló Bavaro Family Deluxe. Barceló Bavaro Family Deluxe will be the newest addition to the six-in-one Barceló Bavaro Beach Resort complex in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The complex boasts 2.5 miles of white sand and tranquil waters, which are protected by a coral reef and serve as a natural swimming pool.

Scheduled for completion in December 2009, the new addition promises to be the most family-friendly resort in the entire Caribbean. Each of the 180 deluxe family junior suites will have the usual technology and comforts to be expected of a Barceló signature “B-room.”

B-rooms are equipped with the latest in in-room entertainment, including a 32-inch LCD television with USB port, incorporated DVD and video on demand, high-speed Wi-Fi access and iPod/MP3 connections, as well as luxurious in-room amenities, such as raindance-style showers, plush bathrobes with slippers and Barceló’s signature bedding, offering one of the best night’s sleep in the Caribbean.

The resort’s deluxe family junior suites also feature separate spaces for adults seeking privacy and children seeking freedom, all under the security of one roof. The adult area will feature a king-sized bed, a sofa bed and a private room with outdoor terrace and private Jacuzzi.

The children’s area, meanwhile, will offer two beds and a terrace, satisfying kids’ need for freedom while ensuring peace of mind for their nearby parents. Kids can head to the supervised Barcy Kids’ Club for playground and craft fun, while parents sip drinks by the adults-only pool or try their luck at the 24-hour casino.

Activities that cater to the entire family, meanwhile, include tennis, kayaking, mini golf and swimming. Other on-site facilities include a theater with live nightly entertainment, regulation-size baseball and soccer fields, a kids-only water park and nine holes designed by P.B. Dye. Additionally, the resort has thirteen restaurants that span the entire complex.
