Bermuda’s Elbow Beach Offers New Spa Treatments
Inspired by the natural resources, culture and beauty of Bermuda, The Spa at Elbow Beach is extending its signature Bermudian Treatment line with two new organic treatments –the Hibiscus Leaf and Bhringaraj Oil Scalp Treatment and the Bermuda Pink Sand Scrub.
The Hibiscus Leaf and Bhringaraj Oil Scalp Treatment starts with a 30-minute Indian Head Massage after which the cooling hibiscus leaf, honey and Bhringaraj oil is applied to the scalp with long, soothing strokes. Hibiscus leaves help restore the hair’s natural composition, re-hydrating the Keratin fibers and regenerating its structure.
Bhringaraj means “ruler of the hair,” and this flower is often made into hair oil and massaged into the scalp to stimulate hair growth. After the oil application, the hair is then wrapped in warm towels to help smooth and condition the hair, while the guest enjoys a Holistic Foot Massage.
In the Pink Sand Scrub treatment, the fine pink sand from Elbow Beach’s very own private stretch of beach is mixed with organic grape seed oil and applied to the body with hot, moist mitts. The textured shell matter of the sand provides a deep exfoliating action that refines skin texture and removes dead cells and impurities.
The initial exfoliating action prepares the skin for further treatment through accelerated cell growth and improves the absorption of the nutrients and minerals in the organic grape seed oil. The grape seed oil acts as a moisturizer, revitalizing the skin and protecting against dryness.
