Boutique-Style Agua Resort & Spa Opens in Punta Cana

In a departure from the norm, the 18-villa, boutique-style Agua Resort & Spa opened May 11 in Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic, a country known for its mammoth, all-inclusive hotels.

The villas, which house a total of 53 suites, feature Frette linens, a pillow menu, large bathrooms with separate shower and vanity areas featuring Korres bath products, walk-in closets and mini-bars, and Wi-Fi access.

Aqua offers 24-hour butler service, two restaurants, two lounges, two pools, a fitness room and a full-service spa.

Rates start at $400 per room, per night, double, and dip to $350 in July. For those who can afford it, private helicopter transfers are available from Punta Cana Airport, 25 miles away.
