Caribbean Hotels, Resorts Offering Special Fall Packages
For kids, fall means getting back to school, but for Caribbean travelers, the arrival of autumn is a time for celebration, as hotels and resorts across the region are offering some of the best values of the entire year. The deals are available at properties across the region, including Aruba, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.
A wide variety of experiences are being offered.
The Gansevoort Dominican Republic, a 48-suite luxury resort in the northern province of Puerto Plata scheduled to open in Dec. 2015, is offering “All Fun + Family” and “VIP Adventure” packages. These deals are designed to provide guests with unique local adventures, from visits to a local monkey jungle to nearby rum and cigar factories.
The packages include VIP assistance and round-trip airport transportation, expedited customs and immigration, luxury SUV transport to the resort, private check-in and a daily full American breakfast. Rates start at $675 per night for guests who book a minimum four-night stay. The offer applies to travel through Dec. 18.
Puerto Rico’s luxury El Convento hotel, located in a restored, 360-year-old Carmelite convent, is offering a “Garden to Palate” package. Included are private tours of the hotel’s herb garden with Luis Castillo, its executive chef, who will help guests pick herbs to incorporate into their next meal, accompanied by unlimited champagne. Guests can also book the evening activity as an add-on to their stay. Hotel rates start at $225 per night.
El Convento is also offering a “Sunset & Sails” package featuring a sailing excursion around San Juan Bay with refreshments and taxi transportation to and from the pier. The package also upgrades the room category to deluxe and provides guests with a signature tote bag. Rates start at $270 per night.
Puerto Rico visitors can also opt for new packages at La Concha, the quintessential San Juan beach hotel in the city’s upscale Condado District. Featuring a great nightlife scene with tropical Modernist architecture and local DJs at its sleek lobby bar, La Concha is offering a “Fab Fall” package, giving patrons a choice of a complimentary wine bottle, Sangria pitcher or Mojito pitcher; appetizers at the Sereno Bar & Grill or Solera restaurants; and 20 percent discounts on tours and spa treatments at the nearby Condado Vanderbilt Hotel.
The Hyatt Regency Aruba is celebrating its 25th year with “Enjoy Something Extra on Us” packages, offering guests who book a minimum of five nights a $250 resort credit. The credit can be used toward charges at the Hyatt Regency Aruba’s ZoiA Spa and multiple resort restaurants and bars, including Footprints, where guests can dine beachside.
