Cayman Brac Hotel Needs More Time to Reopen

The 41-room Brac Reef Beach Resort on Cayman Brac had hoped to reopen in April, but windy weather and a delay in obtaining building approvals were setbacks, according to Manager Trudy Viers.

“We are moving forward with our rebuild with some exciting changes and upgrades, and we seem to be on track at this point,” Viers said.

No reopening date has been set for Brac Reef Beach, the island’s largest resort. Cayman Brac took a pounding from Hurricane Paloma last November. The Category 4 hurricane damaged 95 percent of the island’s buildings.
