Cayman Brac Resort in the Works
Although Cayman Brac is still in recovery mode after being slammed by Hurricane Paloma last November, a development team has proposed a luxury resort community 140 feet atop the northwest tip of the island’s signature limestone bluff that runs up the center of the 12-mile-long island.
The Bluff resort will feature a 125-room boutique hotel with private plunge pools, a spa, a restaurant, lounges, meeting space, private residential villas, estate homes and walking/hiking trails.
Pools will incorporate natural stone outcroppings. Water reclamation, solar energy and ecological waste treatment systems will be incorporated into the design, according to developer DLZ Real Estate Holdings.
A master plan will be submitted to Cayman Brac’s planning department later this year. All buildings will be built to withstand Category 5 hurricanes (Paloma was a Category 4 storm.)
