One of the world’s largest hotel management companies, the Wyndham Hotel Group, has announced that it is entering the Cayman Islands with the management contracts for two resort hotels on Grand Cayman.

The first property is the already existing and recently renovated 170-room Ramada Grand Caymanian Beach Club and Resort, located adjacent to the North Sound Club championship golf course on the shores of North Sound.

After renovations are finished later this year, the Ramada resort will also be putting on an additional 44-unit condo hotel and swimming pool with beach access later this year. Construction on the second property, the 170-room Wyndham Grand Bay Waterford, Cayman Islands in North Side, has already begun, and the resort is expected to be completed by the third-quarter of 2011.

Both properties are owned and managed by the Grand Cayman-based GFK Group, a property development and management firm with more than 25 years of experience in real estate development in the Cayman Islands.

When opened, the new Wyndham Grand Bay Waterford will be a five star luxury property featuring rooms with a British Colonial décor that offer sweeping ocean views from North Sound to Rum Point. The resort will also have a 5,000 square-foot spa, pre-arrival grocery service, luxury car service, an on-site restaurant and cigar room and 24-hour room service and concierge.

Guests will be able to choose from studio, one and two-bedroom suite accommodations with wireless Internet access, flat screen televisions, DVD players, personal washers and dryers, and full kitchens.

The resort will also have a business centre, on-site restaurant, lighted tennis court, beach volleyball court, freshwater pool, multiple hot tubs, a kids club and a variety of water activities including scuba diving, snorkeling and deep sea fishing.
