Cosmopolitan Resort & Casino Breaks Ground on Mixed-Use Resort
A ground-breaking ceremony was scheduled for today for the $1.8 billion Cosmopolitan Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Plans call for the mixed-use, urban high-rise development to debut in 2008.
The property will feature two high-rise hotel and condo-hotel towers (Grand Hyatt will operate the project´s hotel); more than 150,000 square feet of convention and meetings space; a 75,000-square-foot casino; and 300,000 square feet of retail shopping and fine-dining space.
Also on property will be a 1,800-seat theater; a 500-seat cabaret; a 50,000-square-foot spa, salon and fitness center; and multiple nightclub venues, including the Cosmo Beach Club, a five-acre pool deck overlooking the Strip that will offer al fresco dining and a nightclub.
