Dominica Resorts Offers Series of “Pirates” Packages
In response to the overwhelming public interest in the hit Disney movie “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End,” several hotels and attractions on Dominica have created special packages tailored to travelers who would like to visit the place where several scenes from the movie were filmed.
For example, clients that ask for the “Pirates Plunge” at Anchorage Hotel will receive seven nights in a superior room, a full-day tour of the valley, where scene’s from the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies were filmed, four double-tank dives (beverages provided), unlimited shore diving (including tanks and weights), use of kayaks, marine park fees, daily breakfast, return transfer, a welcome drink and all taxes and service charges, for just $991 per person, based on double occupancy.
Clients will visit eight sets of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies when they reserve the “Pirates Package” at Calibishie Lodges. The package includes seven nights’ accommodation, trips to the Indian River, a tour of the North, a boat trip along the mangroves to the Carib Territory, L’escalier Tete Chien and Emerald Pool, and a trip to Batibou Beach for a local barbeque, swimming and snorkeling.
The Fort Young Hotel’s “Pirates Special” runs through Jan. 14, 2008. The package includes seven nights’ accommodation, full breakfast daily, welcome rum or fruit punch, $20 Jewelers dollars and $10 credit at Whitchurch Duty-Free shop.
The Hummingbird Inn’s three-night “Pirates Special” includes three nights’ accommodation, a tour of the Morne Diablotin Syndicate Trail to see the Sisserou Parrots Habitat with a guide, daily breakfast and transfers.
Clients at the Tamarind Tree Hotel & Restaurant can visit all filming locations for the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies with the person who served as the driver for the movie’s director, Gore Verbinski.
Wacky Rollers Adventure Park is offering the “Pirates of the Caribbean Fun & Adventure Special” through October 15 to all stay-over visitors. All guests booking the popular Wacky Rollers Jeep Safari tour that visits the Ti Tou Gorge, one of the filming sites for the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies, will receive a 20 percent discount off of the regular price of $60 per person.
