Bamboo Eco Resort & Spa, located in St. Mary, Jamaica, is an ecological resort featuring luxury accommodations, a world-class Wellness Spa, four restaurants serving locally grown organic foods and 100 percent Renewable Energy operation.

Renowned Architect Eric Lloyd Wright, grandson of American Architect Frank Lloyd Wright, will design Bamboo Eco Resort with careful consideration given to community impact, environmental preservation, architectural design and natural beauty.

The resort site is located along the north coast of Jamaica, 15 miles southeast of Ocho Rios. The property is a spectacular 542 acres of undeveloped coastal land, with tropical forests, six rivers, a large private cove and six beaches.

The resort will be situated on a peninsula overlooking the Caribbean Sea and will feature 80 privately owned Eco Villas and a Hotel with 60 Eco Suites. Bamboo Eco Resort will offer guests “Luxury in Harmony with Nature”.

Guests can rejuvenate at the Spa, enjoy delicious cuisine, relax at the beach, hike to waterfalls and listen to reggae music, all from one destination. Through sustainable tourism development, Bamboo Eco Resort will be a vehicle to create a positive social and economic impact in the rural sector of St. Mary, Jamaica, where it is needed most.

Jamaica is a top Caribbean destination, with three million travelers visiting the island in 2006. Currently, the island is experiencing an influx of resort development, with 5000 new rooms slated to be built by 2010. However, none reflect the architectural style, health & wellness aspects, off-the-beaten-path location, environmental integrity or social responsibility of Bamboo Eco Resort.

The overall concept is strategically positioned to capitalize on several rapidly growing market trends within the travel industry. Ecotourism is the fastest growing segment of the travel industry, increasing by more than 30 percent annually. Spa travel has experienced incredible growth and resort spas have become popular vacation destinations.

Driving these market trends are conscious consumers and sophisticated travelers seeking resorts that offer a focus on holistic health, sustainable living, social responsibility and a pristine natural environment. Currently, this market is untapped in Jamaica.

Bamboo Eco Resort will create an entirely new type of resort in Jamaica, providing guests the quality of service, accommodations and amenities of a luxury resort, offered in an environmentally and socially responsible context.
