The Galaxy Travel Distribution System (TDS) will mesh together all retailing travel agencies in one world network of receptive agents for a wide range of ground services at very competitive fares.

Galaxy came together through the combined vision of its two founding members –Alwin Zecha and Robert Van Meurs. In Mr. Zecha’s opinion, “from the very beginning, the idea was to provide the industry with an efficient sale system, plus a global booking and distribution system for a wide range of ground services good enough to boost up productivity and profitability among retailing and receptive travel agents.”

“Our strength lies in a global network comprising 34 national marketing companies gathered in Galaxy and scattered in as many as 58 countries. This group of companies know the local ropes as far as connections, training capabilities and support efforts among retailing and receptive travel agencies are concerned.”

Travel retailers are facing tough times because many of them are not equipped with the right tools to tack an additional value on services sold to their customers. The Galaxy TDS solution keeps up a unique 24/7 access entry for travel retailers willing to log onto ground service offers at wholesale prices for their customers,” Galaxy president and CEO Paul Casey says.

The Galaxy software, a tested product that’s been operating successfully as a fast and cost-reducing convenience for booking and arrangement of ground services, is widely used by one of the three big ones in the business –Europe’s City Tourism Boards. In 2002, Galaxy processed over 120,000 reservations.

This automated tool is aimed at the leisure travel sector, the market’s fastest-growing segment of travel industry whose sales tallied $25 billion in 2000, according to stats provided by Pacific Travel Agency Association.
