Grand Coral Riviera Maya Under Construction in Mexico
Grupo Grand Coral, the developer backed by Spanish financial houses Bancaja and Banco de Valencia, announced the newest destination in Mexico: Grand Coral Riviera Maya. Located 30 minutes from the Cancun Airport and five minutes from popular coastal town Playa del Carmen, this $2.5 billion investment spans 561 oceanfront acres, contributing to the urban expansion of the region.
Construction is estimated to take place over 10 years and $700 million has been invested to date. Already underway is Mareazul, which includes 300 luxury beachfront condominiums. The development will offer a selection of amenities including a spa, botanical Zen garden with Mayan sculptures, beach club with private cabanas.
The 18-hole golf course will be designed by Hall of Fame golfer Nick Price. There are numerous eco-friendly components to protect the environment at Grand Coral, including preserving 75 percent of the land and saving greenery removed during construction to a greenhouse until ready for replanting. Grand Coral is the largest investment in Mexican Caribbean and will showcase more than 6,900 residences at its completion.
