Ground Broken on Regent Resort in Puerto Rico

Regent Hotels & Resorts has broken ground on the 150-room Regent Puerto Rico in Palmas del Mar, a 35-minute drive southeast of San Juan. Scheduled to open in December 2011, the resort will be part of the Palmas del Mar resort community that will include 153 Regent-branded residences.

The resort will join the Regent Turks and Caicos as the brand’s second Caribbean resort. The Regent Puerto Rico will feature 96 guestrooms, 52 suites, a 5,500-square-foot Presidential Suite and a Presidential Beach Cottage.

Resort amenities will include a signature restaurant, three pools, preferred tee times at nearby golf courses, a 16,000-square-foot spa with five over-water treatment suites, an on-site ballroom and a chapel for destination weddings.

The Palmas del Mar community offers a 22-court tennis center, a country club, a yacht club with a 160-slip marina, an equestrian center, two golf courses and 18 restaurants.
