Grupo Piñero Expands Areas of Business with Residential Complexes in the Caribbean

Grupo Turistico Piñero, with the Bahia Principe Clubs & Resorts Hotel Chain as its flagship, is expanding its area of business with Residential Tourist Complexes in the Caribbean regions of Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Jamaica. The chain’s hotels are already present in the area and advantage can be taken of their facilities.

Grupo Piñero’s Chairman, Pablo Piñero, and the President of the Dominican Republic, Leonel Fernandez, laid the first stone of the residential-tourist project Playa Nueva Romana, Residencial Marina Golf valued at over $1 billion on November 27.

According to the Dominican Republic’s President, “A project of this magnitude conveys a message to the rest of the world that the Dominican Republic is a reliable place and that investors have placed their trust in the country’s future.”

The development covers 6 million square meters and will have 2,800 rooms, 1,200 luxury homes, an 18-hole golf course designed by the prestigious architect Robert Trent Jones II and a marina.

Given the project’s proximity the country’s capital, Santo Domingo, it is an area with outstanding investment potential.

The Bahia Principe Riviera Maya Golf Resort residential complex was initiated in 2007 in a privileged location on the Mexican Riviera, adjacent to the 5-star Gran Bahia Principe Riviera Maya resort. It covers an area of 290 hectares of tropical forest just 60 minutes from Cancun International Airport.

The resort boasts a 27-hole golf course as well as a par-three nine-hole course, both of which were designed by Robert Trent Jones II. It is expected to open in early 2009. It is also equipped with a driving range, club house and a beach club.

With its fine-sand beaches and crystal-clear waters protected by a coral reef, the Bahia Principe Bavaro residential complex is located in one of the most stunning areas of the Dominican Republic.

The development is located beside an 18-hole golf course designed by the prestigious Nick Price, which is considered as one of the best in the country and built to USGA standards.

The development offers a full range of services, including: golf, a SPA and a vast sports area equipped with tennis courts, a mini-golf course, water sports and a gym. The resort is located near the Gran Bahia Principe Bavaro, the Gran Bahia Principe Punta Cana and the Gran Bahia Principe Ambar hotels, as well as the Pueblo Principe shopping and leisure complex.

The Bahia Principe Jamaica residential complex located on the country’s northern coast will get underway in 2009.
