Half Moon Resort Lauded by Top European Golfer

“There are more spectacular courses and courses with faster greens, but if you are looking for a comfortable and nice place with a super course on site, where you feel welcome and where the staff remembers you, there are no place like Half Moon,” declares Johan Ryström, the winner of the 2000 Costa Blanca European Challenge and also a top ten finisher in the Challenger Tour that same year.
Having played competitive golf from the age of 15, Mr. Ryström is knowledgeable about golf courses and recommends, “If you travel to Half Moon and expect to find an ordinary golf course you couldn’t be more wrong,” he said.
“The course was designed by one of the best in the business Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Jones really made use of the scenery around Half Moon. It’s a tough course that has hosted grand tournaments. The course suits all kinds of golfers, especially Swedes who are tired of the winter and haven’t held a club in four to five months. The course doesn’t contain that much water obstacles or other ball-consuming obstacles. If you make a crooked swing you can chip the ball back on course again almost every time. You could say that the course is very pleasant to play after months of enduring the cold Swedish weather.”
Mr. Ryström, who is a four-time repeat guest to Half Moon travels with a party of eight each time. “We have been six adults and three children every year and no one has ever had anything to complain about! That must be some sort of a record itself,” Mr. Ryström said.
Named Golf Resort of the Year in 2008 by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators, Half Moon is a luxury resort situated on twin crescent-shaped white sand beach, with 398 rooms including suites, cottages and villas. In addition to luxurious accommodations, Half Moon also features an 18-hole Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed championship golf course, the Half Moon Golf Academy, full equestrian center, 13 lit tennis courts, fitness center, superb cuisine, 51 swimming pools and many other conveniences.
